These filters are used to protect the eye against laser beams within the ultraviolet, visible and infrared spectrum. When directly hit by a laser beam of the specified wavelength and operating condition under certain accurately defined conditions, the protection will be maintained for at least 10 seconds (continuous mode) or 100 pulses (pulsed mode). Never the less, it is under no circumstances advisable to look into the beam directly.
European Standard EN 208 (Alignment Protection)
These filters are suitable for aligning the beam of lasers with dangerous radiation within the visible spectrum. The radiation will be reduced to values which are less than 1mW for continuous wave lasers. The average power of a laser in use may not exceed 100 W.
