OSHA's mission is to assure the safety and health of America's workers by setting and enforcing standards, providing training, outreach and education, establishing partnerships, and encouraging continual improvement in workplace safety and health. OSHA compliance can be demonstrated by following the ANSI Z136.1 Safe Use of Lasers standard


The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Inc. (ASLMS) was founded in 1980 and is the world’s largest professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in patient care by advancing laser applications and related technologies.


The Academy of Laser Dentistry is a not-for-profit international professional membership association of dental practitioners and supporting organizations dedicated to improving the health and well-being of patients through the proper use of laser technology


The Laser Institute of America (LIA) is the information and applications society dedicated to fostering lasers, laser applications, and laser safety worldwide. Serving the industrial, medical, research and government communities, LIA offers technical information and networking opportunities to laser users from around the globe. LIA publishes the ANSI Z136 Series.
