Employee Laser Safety 37500

Lasers are used in various settings ranging from indoor classrooms, research labs, manufacturing environments to outdoor applications for surveying, entertainment and target designators. These settings and their numerous applications present both laser beam and non-beam hazards. This on-site program was developed for operators, technicians, engineers, maintenance and service personnel and other persons working with or potentially exposed to laser radiation in excess of Class 1 lasers. Designed to meet the OSHA referenced American National Standard ANSI Z136.1-2007 for Safe Use of Lasers employee training requirements, participants will learn about laser beam and non-beam hazards associated with all laser classes above Class 1 and control measures that effectively minimize these hazards.

Medical Laser Safety 37503

The vast majority of lasers used in hospitals, outpatient surgical centers and clinics are Class 4 systems that by definition present potential eye and skin hazards as well as fire hazards. This on-site program was developed to meet the JCAHO, AAAHC and OSHA referenced American National Standard ANSI Z136.3-2005 for Safe Use of Lasers in Health Care Facilities training requirements for health care personnel including; physicians, nurses, surgical technicians, biomedical engineers and laser safety officers (LSO). Clinical, technical and administrative aspects of managing a safe, regulatory compliant and productive laser program in health care facilities are reviewed in detail.
This Medical Laser Safety program typically fulfills hospital criteria for issuance of continuing medical education unit (CME) accreditation for physicians and contact hours for registered nurses toward their licensing requirements at hospitals where it is presented.
